🇬🇧🇮🇷🇷🇺 NYT: MI5 Director General Ken McCallum has warned that Iran is increasingly targeting "harder" targets, including British military sites, as Russia continues to expand its hybrid warfare campaign against Britain and its allies.

McCallum said state-related threats against Britain had quadrupled over the past decade, forcing MI5 to devote more resources to fighting foreign countries than during the Cold War.

He declined to discuss the suspected Iranian plot targeting RAF Fairford because of an ongoing investigation, but said the incident was "not unique". McCallum described Russia as "Britain's number one aggressor".
