The Ethiopian Federal Forces recaptured Edgeret, a strategic city about 30 km from the Eritrean border, bringing all four major cities of Tigray, Mekella, Shire, Edgeret and Aksum, under the control of the ENDF. The takeover followed reports of Eritrean troop movements, armed clashes and drone strikes in northern Tigray. ACLED reported attacks by Ethiopian drones against Eritrean forces in the area. So far, there has been no Ethiopian attack into Eritrea. Ethiopia has accused Eritrea of sending troops up to 60 km into Tigray. Eritrea has denied the allegations and accuses Ethiopia of using them to justify a war of aggression. Eritrea's foreign minister has appealed to the UN Security Council to condemn Ethiopia and take deterrent measures. The escalation comes as Ethiopian forces continue to advance against the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF).
