🇨🇩 Reuters: Former Congolese President Joseph Kabila has launched the Front pour la Refondation de la Nation (FRN), a politico-military coalition replacing the AFC-M23 rebel alliance in eastern Congo.

Kabila will lead the team, with rebel leaders Kornei Nanga, Bertrand Bisimwe, Freddy Kaniki and Sultani Makanga as deputies.

The move marks his open involvement in the uprising which he previously denied his support for. A military court sentenced him to death in absentia for treason, war crimes and crimes against humanity; He dismisses the case as politically motivated.
