๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Emirates247: The UAE Attorney General revealed that the Omani co-pilot involved in the attempted hijacking of Flydubai flight FZ1073 on September 30 planned to crash the plane into the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport, with the aim of causing as many casualties as possible.

The 29-year-old suspect admitted that he became radicalized while studying in Australia in 2017, and was inspired by the September 11 attacks. Investigators say that his ambition to carry out a similar attack motivated him to pursue a career in aviation.

The suspect used two previous flights to Tel Aviv to familiarize himself with the route and the airport before trying to carry out his plan during his third flight on September 30.

During the flight he attacked the captain with an emergency ax inside the cockpit. Another pilot on board the plane, assisted by crew members and passengers, intervened and coordinated it, allowing the plane to divert and land safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

The UAE Attorney General said that the suspect had passed the employment and security checks of Flydubai, which failed to identify his extremist views. He admitted to acting alone, although investigators continue to look into possible associates or connections.
