According to him, the test proves the credibility of France's deterrence, adding: "To be free, one must be afraid. And to be afraid of it, one must be powerful."

Macron said the defense budget will double in ten years, future strategic submarines are under construction, and a program for hypersonic maneuvering of strategic missiles for the air component was launched this year.
