️🇺🇸🇬🇧 WSJ: All US B-1 bombers deployed to RAF Fairford in the UK have returned to their US home bases amid security concerns surrounding the air base.
The Pentagon has confirmed that all American bombers stationed at Fairford have been redeployed to the US, while saying they are still ready to conduct global strike missions from the continental United States. About a dozen B-1s were deployed at the base.
The withdrawal follows the arrest of five men near Fairford last week on suspicion of a plot to target the base. A sixth suspect was later arrested in London. British authorities continue to investigate possible foreign involvement, while Iran has denied any role.
