️🇬🇧🇵🇸 Eye of the Middle East: The Green Party of England and Wales voted to recognize Zionism as a form of racism and support the establishment of one democratic Palestinian state throughout historic Palestine, with equal rights for all ethnic and religious groups.
The proposal was accepted at the party's annual conference in Brighton by 1,022 votes to 813. It also calls for the right of return of the Palestinians and their descendants and for Jerusalem to serve as the capital of the proposed state.
The decision makes the Greens the first major British political party to formally adopt a policy defining Zionism as a form of racism, although the proposal was opposed by some Green MPs and Jewish members of the party.
