The proposal, submitted by the Greens for Palestine group, describes Zionism as a political ideology that advocates a "Jewish state based on ethnic nationalism" while excluding its non-Jewish population.

Party representatives approved the proposal by 56% to 44%, although only 1,835 of the more than 200,000 party members participated in the vote.

The proposal also calls for a single Palestinian state with "equal rights for all," including Jews. There is no reference in it to the continued existence of the State of Israel, including within the framework of two states.
