09:15 - Co-pilot Hammam Al Hamami says he wants to pray.
09:20 - Al Hamami attacks the Indian captain, Smith Machar, from behind with an emergency ax. During the ensuing struggle, the injured captain manages to open the cockpit door.
09:21 - As the passengers rush to the cockpit, Al Hamami disconnects the autopilot, takes control of the plane, shuts down both engines and pushes the control column fully forward, sending the plane into a dive over the Saudi desert.
