๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, said that Tehran remains a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty "for the time being", while questioning the benefits of membership.

Esmail Baghaei said that Iran has been a fully compliant member of the NPT since 1970, yet faced military aggression, assassination of its scientists and attacks on its nuclear facilities.

"If a country should be in the NPT, it must be able to enjoy its benefits and enjoy its rights, not be constantly under pressure, threat and military attack. This is a serious question."
