ISIS claimed that its fighters exchanged fire for several hours with a Mozambican naval force near the village of Namada in its local area, and said that four military boats tried to approach before withdrawing. The group also claimed that three Christians were killed in the Mochimboa de Praia area and several others were captured and killed in separate incidents.

ISIS separately claimed that gunmen raided a Christian village in the Nangda area, burned two motorcycles and seized property. It was also said that four trucks and three agricultural vehicles belonging to a Chinese company were burned in the Balama forests.
