Ukraine has asked for early installments of a 90 billion euro loan package from the European Union to help cover an additional $27 billion in military needs identified this summer.

However, only €15.7 billion of the planned funding has been disbursed so far this year.

Brussels is instead looking for progress on reforms that could unlock some €34 billion in EU support this year, such as anti-corruption reforms around politically exposed people.
