"Citizens of Israel, this morning a very serious security incident occurred on a flight from Dubai to Israel. Almost all the passengers on the flight were Israelis.

During the flight, as they approached Israel, one of the pilots stabbed the other pilot and apparently tried to destroy the plane with everyone on board.

I spoke with one of the Israeli passengers. He told me the plane went into a spin and started diving. He told me that somehow he managed to break into the cockpit with one of the crew members, and together they subdued the pilot who carried out the stabbing while he tried to sabotage the plane's systems.

Another flight crew member who was on board entered the cockpit and managed to stabilize the plane. I salute these heroes, who showed exceptional resourcefulness and courage. They saved many lives and prevented a major disaster.

The plane landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. All passengers are out of danger. The pilot who carried out the stabbing was arrested and is currently being interrogated by the Saudi authorities.

We are maintaining continuous contact with the relevant parties to ensure the continued safety of the passengers and their safe return to Israel.

I have instructed the security agencies to prepare for additional potential threats. We are holding ongoing situation assessments and will update you as developments unfold."
