Documents show that Russia plans to raise its budget deficit forecast for 2026 to 3.2% of GDP, while the country's debt for 2027 is expected to reach 21.7% of GDP. The draft budget is expected to be submitted to parliament by October 1.

The projected figure would be Russia's highest level of defense spending since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022. Total defense spending is expected to reach 50 trillion rubles over the next three years.
