The man, identified only as "Mr X" due to legal restrictions, lived with his family in England and worked as an IT consultant. He was arrested in London in November 2025 and is now facing extradition to Germany over an alleged plot by Hamas to attack Jewish and Israeli targets in Germany or Austria around the second anniversary of October 7.

According to the indictment, he transferred guns and ammunition from Berlin to Vienna and recorded a video in which he appears masked and armed in front of the Hamas flag, describing the planned attack as an act of revenge on behalf of the military arm of Hamas. The German prosecutors say that the wide network obtained an automatic rifle, 13 pistols and more than 700 rounds of ammunition, and claim that senior Hamas officials ordered the preparations. Hamas denied any connection to the suspects.
