️🇦🇪🇮🇱🇵🇸 NYT⁠: The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed, warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in late September 2023 that Hamas was preparing a major operation against Israel, according to five former Israeli officials quoted by the NYT.

According to the report, the warning did not reach Israel's top security leadership. Minutes from a security meeting on October 1 show that Netanyahu did not mention the reported conversation and instead claimed to maintain peace in Gaza.

Netanyahu denied that he had received any warning from MBZ, called the reports false and said that relevant information would have been transmitted through intelligence channels.

The UAE has not publicly confirmed that the call took place.
