🇱🇧🇺🇳 The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam, met with UN officials in New York, thanked UN agencies for their support in Lebanon during the recent crisis and called for additional funding as humanitarian needs continue, especially in the south.

Salam said that Lebanon must gradually transition from emergency aid to recovery, while continuing to assist displaced, returnees and affected communities under a Lebanese state-led approach.

The discussions also covered the post-UNIFIL phase, with Salam stressing the need for a continued international presence under the UN umbrella to prevent a vacuum, support stability and help expand the Lebanese state's authority over its territory.
