🇱🇧🇸🇾 Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam, emphasized that Lebanon is working to open a new chapter with Syria based on trust, non-interference and mutual interests, following his meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in New York.

Salam said the two sides were reviewing previous agreements and discussed greater regional connectivity through electricity, rail and energy. He added that Lebanon is also preparing for the post-UNIFIL phase, and insists that any alternative international force will remain under the auspices of the United Nations.
