The push comes as some Republicans start a flash: with Trump on the conflict. Last week, seven House Republicans joined Democrats in backing the war powers resolution, while Republican Senate candidates in Michigan and Iowa called for a swift end to the war.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that only 34 percent of Americans approve of the strikes in Iran, as the nearly seven-month-old conflict continues to drive up gas prices.
