️🇮🇱🇵🇸 The Israeli security forces say they uncovered a Palestinian squad from the Nablus area that planned to assassinate Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir using an explosives drone and carry out several other attacks.

According to the Shin Bet and the police, the two suspects built a terrorist infrastructure since the end of 2023, purchased M16 and Kalashnikov rifles, pistols and ammunition, recruited additional operatives and conducted weapons training.

The investigators say that the squad planned to carry out an initial attack and wait until Ben Gabir arrived on the scene, based on what they believe is a pattern of visiting attack sites. They then intended to remotely target it with an explosive drone, with one plan involving purchasing drone components from China. The squad allegedly also investigated the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers, the construction of an armed autonomous vehicle, the use of remotely controlled car bombs and the execution of shooting and bombing attacks.

Charges were filed against the two suspects.
