"But what followed was an assault on Palestinians in Gaza on a scale of killing and destruction unlike anything I've seen in my years as Secretary General. The International Court of Justice issued legally binding interim measures in a case that won, and I quote, the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crime in the Gaza Strip at the end of the genocide in Gaza.

In last year's advisory opinion, the court was clear that the United Nations should be allowed to carry out our mandates in Gaza and to protect our humanitarian staff and personnel. All parties must obey international law and court orders."
