🇹🇷🇺🇸 Türkiye Nuclear Energy Inc. and the American Trade and Development Agency signed a grant agreement on small modular reactors and fourth‑generation reactors in Turkey in New York.

Turkey's Energy Minister, Elifşan Bayrak, said the agreement supports Turkey's zero net emissions goal by 2053 and full energy independence.

The grant, which does not fund construction, opens a path for US SMR suppliers to assess commercial deployment in Turkey, which aims for an SMR capacity of 5 GW by 2050 alongside the Akkuyu plant built in Russia.
