The NOC said that technical teams could not access valves 6 and 7, and that continued closure would halt production in Sirte, disrupt exports, and shut down the refinery in Zawiya.

Sirte is the largest oil field in Libya, usually producing about 300,000 barrels per day, and a major source of the country's revenue.

The NOC warned that it may be forced to declare a state of emergency if the closure continues, and called on the group to reopen the pipeline immediately and for authorities to secure the oil sites.
