"I respect that Czech President Petr Pavel, as a former NATO general, would want to fight. Therefore I would appreciate it if he would respect the fact that I prefer peace," Pico wrote.

He said the Western military rhetoric was designed to distract from the failure of the liberal world to deal with energy prices and illegal immigration, and pledged that Slovak soldiers would not participate in any "military adventure" that would arise within NATO while he was in office.
