๏ธ๐ฎ๐ท๐ซ๐ท France 24: Iranian authorities closed the French Language Center (CLF) in Tehran on Sunday, accusing the embassy-linked institute of illegal acts that violated diplomatic conventions and abused its position in language training to build networks among the elite.
The closure follows recent diplomatic friction, including the expulsion of two Iranian diplomats by France after a brief arrest and the banning of two French envoys in July, and Tehran's claim that the French staff meddled in domestic affairs.
The spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry, Pascal Confebrou, called the move an unjustified attack on France's cultural presence and said that Paris would summon Iran's ambassador and take appropriate measures.
