️🇪🇬🇮🇷 Ashrak: Egypt's economy has been hurt by the war with Iran, but the impact so far has been more "turbulent" than a structural shock, according to Ziad Daoud, chief emerging markets economist at Bloomberg Economics.

Daoud said that Egypt entered the conflict after about two years of reforms supported by the International Monetary Fund strengthened its economic position, helping it to absorb the initial effects. However, higher energy costs, disruption to maritime trade and regional uncertainty are creating renewed pressure on growth, investment and inflation.

The International Monetary Fund expects Egyptian growth to slow to 4.4% in the 2026/27 fiscal year as the lingering effects of the war weigh on the economy.
