️🇮🇷 Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, says that lawmakers have prepared proposals for Iran to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

Azizi said the proposals have been signed by a large number of MPs and are being reviewed by the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and the Legislature. He emphasized that no decision has been made to withdraw, and said that this would require a unified decision by Iran's political leadership.

"If one day all the pillars of the Islamic system come to the conclusion that staying in the NPT is no longer beneficial to the Iranian people, but will cause harm, the Islamic Republic will make the appropriate decisions," Azizi said.

He also warned of "serious and unfortunate reactions" if the IAEA continued what he described as unilateral conduct and failed to fulfill its responsibilities.
