๏ธ๐จ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ท๐ธ๐ฆ๐พ๐ช๐พ๐ช Reuters: China has privately urged Iran to rein in the Houthis following an appeal by Saudi Arabia, while the Houthis are advancing along Yemen's Red Sea coast and around the threat route of Bab al-Mandab.
Sources said Beijing's message to Tehran reflected growing concern about the impact on energy supplies and shipping. China relies heavily on oil from the Middle East and in the past played a major role in brokering the Saudi rapprochement with Iran, giving Beijing significant economic leverage over Tehran.
Iran has claimed that regional tensions will not ease indefinitely for what it describes as hostilities between the US and Israel, while China has publicly called for restraint and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
