The order suspends the immunity of the house, allowing the police and the military to carry out immediate raids without prior judicial approval, covering El Oro, Esmeraldas, Guias, Los Rios, Manavi, Pichicha, Santa Elena and Santo Domingo de los Chechilas, along with the municipalities of Camilo Ponce, Las Navanes, and La Mansa Enris.

The government also imposed a nightly curfew from midnight to 5 a.m., September 17-30, in the coastal provinces of Guias, El Oro, Los Rios and Manavi, the third such curfew this year.
