WaPo: Trump administration preparing a $2.8 billion weapons sale to Israel that will include 40,000 2,000‑pound bombs.

The package includes 20,000 MK‑84 bombs, 20,000 BLU‑117 bombs, and another 20,000 I‑2000 penetrating warheads.

The proposed deal has been formally submitted to the congressional committees and will be the largest U.S. sale of 2,000‑pound bombs to Israel in recent years.

When asked about humanitarian concerns, a senior administration official said, "All foreign weapons sales go through the proper process. We do not respond to pending sales."
