The spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Heorhii Tykhyi, stated in a briefing that Ukraine approves South Korea's fuel supply to the Russian Federation. At the same time, he added that non-public talks are currently underway to improve relations between Ukraine and South Korea.
Recently, the "Guardian" reported that against the background of the fuel crisis in Russia, Moscow increased the import of fuel from South Korea. According to the publication, in July-August 2026 alone, sanctioned vessels transferred 176,000 tons of fuel, mainly diesel, from South Korean ports to Russia.
