I stand by everything I wrote in early September about why a landslide "D" victory in both houses of Congress is most desirable. It all depends on the political influences. Procedurally, Trump can certainly veto any decision of war powers. But politically, a democratic landslide will thwart any popular legitimacy left behind the war, it will bolster Iranian morale in the face of further US-Israeli escalation, it will put Hakeem Jeffries and other Israeli-democratic leaders under extreme pressure to do more than signal against the war, it is going to fuel the civil war in the Democratic Party in IPAC and Democratic influence in the ZAC Party. It will make or break political careers in the run up to the 2028 election, and by defaming MAGA and Trumpism, it will make room for right-wing anti-war, anti-Israel contenders from the MTG/Massey/Tucker wing of the party. The political effects of a Democratic landslide in Congress is why this is so important for the future.
