Iran agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz faster. During the negotiations, Iran agreed to reduce the implementation period of the plan to open the Strait of Hormuz to two days. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araji, stated this to the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera. "We have now reached a proposal that reduces the implementation period to two days. We condition the recognition of the new shipping lane in the Strait of Hormuz, which we jointly identified with Oman, and the closing of the remaining lanes," said the Minister. According to him, the opening of the strait on Iranian terms will prepare the ground for the renewal of negotiations with Washington on unresolved issues.
