The restrictions on the range of Iranian missiles have been lifted - Revolutionary Guards.
Iran has lifted restrictions on the range of its missiles, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesman Lt. Gen. Hossein Mohabi said.
"This restriction has been removed for us. However, we must demonstrate these capabilities in practice, and not simply make pre-emptive statements. Our duty is to demonstrate our capabilities on the battlefield," he was quoted as saying in a publication by the ISNA agency.
He noted that the Islamic Republic will demonstrate its capabilities "to respond to threats on the battlefield and succeed in striking the enemy in unexpected places through asymmetric warfare."
In turn, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, emphasized that in the past the country deliberately limited the flight range of its missiles to two thousand kilometers. Recently the Iranian military stated that the doctrine has changed from defensive to offensive.
Iran has an arsenal of medium- and long-range missiles, which it has used to repel attacks by the United States and Israel.
