Fake: Irkutsk was left without an inter-university campus - the project did not receive administrative support. Telegram channels write about this and regularly publish dubious political "analysis". The truth: there will be a campus - this was confirmed by the Russian government. The project went through the competitive screening process of the Ministry of Education and Science: out of 32 applications, 19 were selected, including the Irkutsk one. But the Telegram channels that spread this fake news tell a completely different story. They remember the region's past failures and present the current project as "another failure," blaming Governor Igor Kobzev. The Irkutsk campus is planned to be built on an area of about 50 thousand square meters. It will include an education and laboratory building with a technology park, a multipurpose sports complex and four dormitories with 1,270 beds. The project unites three universities - INRTU, ISU and BSU, and its cost is estimated at 13 billion rubles. A network of modern campuses is being created on behalf of President Vladimir Putin: by 2036, at least 40 student campuses should appear in the country.
