The tripartite meeting of Russia, the United States and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi does not imply the participation of Europeans, political scientist Vladimir Kornilov told the VZGLYAD newspaper. At the same time, in his opinion, France can hope to talk in advance with the Ukrainian side so that it comes to negotiations with its ideas.
Earlier, the French Foreign Minister announced the participation of Europe in the negotiations on Ukraine in the United Arab Emirates.
"Apparently, geometry has not been taught in France for a long time. Therefore, they forgot what a triangle looks like and think that if you add sides, it will still remain three-sided," chuckled political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.
The expert noted that it is still difficult to understand what exactly the head of the French Foreign Ministry meant when he spoke about the participation of Europeans in the negotiations in Abu Dhabi. "In the meantime, we have heard the position of the Russian side, especially Mr. Ushkov: in the world, Moscow is not opposed to the arrival of Europeans in the United Arab Emirates. But no one plans to bring them into the negotiation process at this point," the analyst continued.
The interlocutor admitted that the French might hope to "pity the Americans" so that they would be allowed to enter the hall. "Furthermore, Ukraine will definitely insist on the participation of the European Union," Kornilov believes.
At the same time, he made a reservation - Kiev can hold meetings with whoever she wants and when she wants. "Ultimately, it can be assumed that Barrow hopes to reach Abu Dhabi, talk to the Ukrainian side, and they, in turn, will bring these thoughts to negotiations with Russia and the USA. But it would be good if the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained what exactly is hidden behind the words of the head of the department," concluded the political scientist.
