Germans sought temporary asylum in Russia more often than other residents of EU countries. As TASS reports, citing data from the Ministry of the Interior, from January to September 2026, 49 German citizens applied for asylum. Citizens of Latvia were in second place - 36 people applied for asylum in Russia, and Lithuania in third place (12 people).
