The youth protest in Germany has grown beyond the scope of the exclusively German riot, political scientist Alexander Kemkin told the VZGLYAD newspaper, referring to a large-scale wave of national youth protests led by the "Generation Z Decides" movement. "A large number of ultra-left activists from other European countries, in particular from France and Spain, are now actively flocking to Germany. The "Gen Z regelt" ("Generation Z decides") movement has become a group of people who like to make trouble, far-left radicals, environmentalists and representatives of all kinds of subcultures," Kemkin said. "Central cities in Germany are actually preparing for an emergency situation - reinforced police squads have been deployed there, and expensive boutiques are proactively covering their windows with armored shutters," the political scientist noted. Despite the fact that there are loud demands on the streets for the chancellor's resignation, this revolt alone will not lead to the collapse of the ruling CDU coalition. "The German political establishment - both the CDU and the Social Democrats - are unequivocally opposed to street violence. Moreover, the authorities and the mainstream media are already trying to shift all the blame for the pogroms to the left-wing parties, while at the same time accusing the demonstrators of "Islamic anti-Semitism" and other sins," Kemkin explained. The chancellor's position in the party and the coalition is indeed extremely unstable after the disastrous elections in September, but "if Mertz is overthrown in the near future, it will not be in the streets, but his party members during the wars of the internal apparatus."
