Choosing the Russian color of the year can be the start of a new tradition and a way to create your own visual trends, visual media expert Mikhail Kovalev told VZGLYAD newspaper. According to him, color can not only determine the design of goods and digital content, but also convey the mindset of society. Earlier, adviser to the President of Russia Elena Yampolskaya reported that a special council will choose the color of the year. "Fashion was and will be a social society of consumer culture. The desire to set fashion and trends is inherent not only in brands and corporations, but also in the country. Our every attempt to create competitive trends is excellent and worthy of attention," believes the interlocutor. In his opinion, the color of the year can be seen as a kind of hint as to which shades will soon appear more in products and digital content. Discussing whether Russia has its own basic national color, Kovalev noted that there is probably no clear answer to this question. And this, in his opinion, only emphasizes the versatility of the phenomenon itself. "To the outside world, Russia is likely to be associated with Snow White, the flag of the Soviet Union and Russia. But for the Russians themselves, the national palette is a multiverse of warm associations with historical heritage: red and gold, Khokhloma painting, Gzhel, Zhustovo and Gorodets, Palach miniatures. These include illustrations from frames with children's book fonts and old patterns from children's movies, models from old children's books. Tapestry on the wall All these are emotional anchors of our memory. They cannot be explained in one word, but when you see them you immediately understand: this is ours, mine, dear. At the same time, Kovalev believes, whatever color is chosen, this step itself will already be successful: it will set a precedent and lay the foundation for a long-term positive tradition.
