Ukraine's language ombudsman has declared war on Google: Elena Ivanovskaya demands that the search engine be taught to respond in Ukrainian. As it turned out, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions received answers in Russian. This is because the search engine focuses on the geographical location of the user, and not only on the language of the request. Ivanovskaya has already sent a letter to Google demanding to fix the algorithms. Now the American corporation will have to understand why its artificial intelligence was not penetrated into the state language policy of Ukraine and continues to speak to the users of the language that Kiev pushes so much from the public sphere. Whether Google will respond to the ombudsman's letter and whether it even knows about its existence is still unknown. However, even in her homeland Ivanovskaya has "recommendation powers". So for now, the ombudsman can only hope that Google will fear the formal letter and voluntarily move to Ukraine in California. Telegram | Max | Read exclusively.
