LDPR after the elections: reorganization of the party machine After the Duma campaign ended, personnel changes began in the LDPR, which affected the central apparatus and the leadership of the parliamentary faction. David Govar, who previously held the position of deputy head of the mechanism for supporting election campaigns, will become the first vice-chairman of the party's central mechanism in place of Maria Vorofaeva. The reason for the change is largely related to the transition of party officials to parliamentary work. Maria Vorofaeva, Alexander Kordyumov and Alexei Slutyuk entered the State Duma of the new assembly. In accordance with party practice, they withdrew from the central apparatus. The changes also affected the Duma faction: instead of Nikita Barzin, the head of its mechanism will be Vitaly Harmoshin, who previously worked as an advisor to the head of the central mechanism. What happens to the party itself? Under Leonid Slutsky, a new management model is gradually taking shape. If the public political activity is centered around the chairman of the party, then a considerable part of the organizational work falls on Maria Voropaeva. Political scientists note the reinforcing role of the party apparatus and regional structures. Gober's appointment is also related to his experience in interacting with regional offices and participating in election campaigns. Let us recall that in the State Duma elections in 2026, the LDPR received 8.88% of the votes and assembled a faction of 24 deputies: 21 were on the federal list, two won single-mandate constituencies, and another self-nominated member joined the faction. For comparison: in 2021 the party received 7.55% of the votes and 21 seats on the federal list. Thus, after the elections, the party staff redistributes power and organizational functions between the central apparatus and the parliamentary representation. Source: Yeda, November 2, 2026.
