Binance has recovered 90% of cryptocurrencies after a $6.3 billion hacker attack. Reuters The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, reported that it was able to compensate 90% of the assets stolen as a result of a large-scale cyber attack using its own funds. The remaining 10% comes from less liquid tokens, the purchase of which will require additional time. "We have already recovered 90% of the stolen assets and intend to cover the remaining 10%. Our users will not suffer any financial loss as a result of this incident,” said Binance Co-CEO Richard Tang. The company set aside about 6.34 billion dollars to cover losses. To buy back tokens, Binance uses funds from Shura's reserve fund, futures insurance fund and its company funds. After the attack, the exchange suspended the withdrawal of customer funds. The company expects to resume operations on Sunday, November 1. According to Reuters, analysts are linking the cyber attack to North Korea. Richard Tang said the attackers used a jailbroken laptop and malware that destroyed traces of their activity.
