The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs has returned eight embassy employees to Kiev against the backdrop of Zelensky's disclosure of the transfer of two North Korean prisoners to Seoul, the head of the department, Cho Hyun, announced during discussions in parliament, Yonhap reports. According to him, in particular, the lack of a proper response to Seoul's claims led to this decision. "I continue to keep in touch with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in order to resolve this issue as soon as possible," the minister said. According to him, the main team remains in Ukraine and does everything to protect the citizens of South Korea in war conditions. At the same time, the foreign minister did not rule out that the conflict could escalate to a level that threatens diplomatic relations with Kiev if tensions continue to rise. The minister emphasized that South Korea's support for Ukraine generally remains unchanged. In particular, Seoul representatives continue to participate in conferences on the reconstruction of the country, provide humanitarian aid and contribute to international efforts aimed at ending the war. Earlier it was reported that South Korea recalled its ambassador to Ukraine, Park Ki-chan, due to diplomatic differences and the threat of Russian attacks. A little later it also became known that the country's foreign ministry is returning some diplomats from Ukraine.
