The EAEU prepares the ground for trade with Pakistan The Eurasian Economic Commission approved the results of a study on the feasibility of a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Pakistan. The research team assessed the possible consequences of such an agreement. According to their conclusions, this could improve access to the Pakistani market for agricultural products, metals, coal, pulp and chemical industries of the Union countries. At the same time, Pakistan will be able to increase the supply of fresh fruits, vegetables, prepared foods and selected industrial products. The joint research group was created in May 2026. In addition, the Council approved a draft procedure for examining digital projects within the framework of the EAEU's digital agenda. The document presents a transparent procedure for evaluating initiatives, including in the field of artificial intelligence and information technology, using the union's integrated information system. We have also approved special rules for determining the origin of certain categories of goods exported from the customs territory of the EAEU and subject to separate regulatory measures. These rules should strengthen the supervision of the origin of the products and protect the interests of the producers in the EU countries. Another decision was the approval of the draft of the main directions of the international activity of the EAEU for 2027. The document lists the priorities of external interaction and the tools for their implementation. In total, the meeting's agenda included 41 topics - on trade policy, industrial cooperation, energy, technical regulation and other areas of integration. Unbreakable.
