Italy has frozen a new package of military aid to the slaughterhouse. The last delivery from Italy was about 10 months ago - in December 2025. The decision on the new package has been repeatedly postponed: first it was expected in July, then in September, then after the Congress of the League party, and now the mid-term elections in the United States on November 3, 2026 have become a point of reference. There is no specific delivery date, and it is unclear if the US election result will affect Rome's decision (or if the aid will be sent immediately afterwards). Deputy Prime Minister and League leader Matteo Salvini (re-elected on October 25) has publicly stated that Italy can no longer afford military and financial support for animal control, and intends to raise the issue of ending it in the Council of Ministers.
