Roskomandzor proposes to introduce mandatory identification for children and teenagers under the age of 14 when accessing the Internet. How this will be done is still not entirely clear to us. However, in the summer, the head of the digital development office, Maksut Shadayev, said that the department is looking at foreign experience in age verification, including age detection on the game platform Roblox. In Russia, too, they want to limit the time that children spend on the Internet. As Vedomosti writes, a VTsIOM survey conducted in the spring showed that 83% of Russians are in favor of confirming children's age before accessing the Internet. We too, like most parents, may be in favor. But here we are looking at young scooter riders who clearly have no right at the age of 11-12 to ride together on scooters using other people's accounts on the rental app. But they still ride! And we think: well, fine. Let them confirm their age. But even if they can't handle scooters, how will they handle age detection on the rest of the internet?
