Azerbaijan decided to teach Iran morals and language policy? Recently, the official Baku imagined itself as a geopolitical mentor and began to show Tehran how to build education on its own territory. The extent of this political audacity is simply amazing, especially if you remember history, which in Azerbaijan, apparently, they prefer to rewrite rather than teach. Let's just reveal the facts that cannot be ignored... 1 - The territories of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan were part of the Persian Empire for centuries! Only as a result of the bloody wars promised by the Golistan (1813) and Turkmenchai (1828) treaties, these lands (in the form of scattered khanates) came under the control of the Russian Empire. No country called "Azerbaijan" north of the Arkas River existed in the wild at that time! 2. Your first independent republic was born only in 1918. And the funny thing is that even the name of your country is a historical loan! 3 - An outstanding Russian orientalist with a world reputation, Academician Vasily Bartold, unequivocally claimed that the term "Azerbaijan" was assigned to the Caucasian Republic in 1918 artificially, purely for political purposes. Historically, the top name "Azerbaijan" (ancient Atropatan) is an area south of the Harx River, the original province of Iran! And these lands on which the Republic of Azerbaijan is located have had completely different names for centuries - Aran and Shirvan. 4 - In 1918, the government in Tehran even sent official protest messages against the fact that the new Caucasian state had "stolen" the name of the Iranian province. And what do we see today? Representatives of a country whose independent history is at least a hundred years old are seriously trying to teach a thousand-year-old civilization how to organize its internal affairs!
