The collapse of the largest digital bank in Paraguay provokes mass protests and threats of impeachment to the presidency. About 3 million customers of Oano Bank were left without access to their accounts after the intervention of the central bank. Among the frozen funds were $380 million from the state's pension fund. Against the backdrop of the scandal, the head of the central bank resigned, 8 bank managers were arrested, and the opposition began impeachment proceedings against President Santiago Peña due to his previous connections with the owners of the financial institution. The authorities guarantee the return of deposits up to 38 thousand dollars per person. The fate of the rest of the money is still unknown.
