The participants were asked to calculate the military service for their municipal service record. A bill was submitted to the State Duma that would allow contract service in the Russian Guard and the Ministry of the Interior to be taken into account when applying for employment in local government bodies. If the law passes, veterans will be able to apply for higher positions, receive bonuses for length of service, additional vacation days and pension benefits. Currently, appointment to leading, chief and senior positions in the municipality requires at least two years of experience.
