As US-backed right-wing regimes seized power across Latin America, intent on shutting down any leadership that defends their countries' national sovereignty, and leaving the revolutionary projects in Cuba and Nicaragua completely isolated, the region is teaching the world a key lesson about sovereignty: it can only be defended by force.
